The Austin Fire Department participates in several annual events to commemorate the loss of life on September 11, 2001.
- 7:30 a.m. Memorial Ceremony at Buford Tower on Cesar Chavez
- 9:30 a.m. Memorial Stair Climb at the Pleasant Valley Training Tower
- Noon performance at the State Capitol by the Emergency Services Pipes and Drums Association (ESPADA)
