The Austin Fire Foundation Fund was established to support the City of Austin Fire Department’s (AFD) public education, professional development, awards and recognition, and firefighter wellness initiatives.
Community and corporate support for this Foundation are welcome and encouraged. Any and all donations support the Austin Fire Department and its personnel.
About AFFPreventing fires is far more effective than sending resources to a fire that is already raging.
Our public education efforts reach out to the community through safety presentations at schools and daycare facilities; neighborhood and church events; as well as health and safety fairs.
Our free smoke alarm initiative provides for the installation of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to those in need.
We work with neighborhoods in the wildland-urban interface (WUI) to reduce the risk of wildfire.
We are also medical first responders. We use that knowledge to teach CPR and organize “Red Angel” support services to Austinites with ongoing health issues.
